CCFN's mission statement is to “improve the quality of life for the children and families of Clarion County.”
We also use the Communities That Care model of prevention for most of our efforts in the county. This includes focusing primarily on looking at risk and protective factors in an effort to prevent problem and unhealthy behaviors.
It is our goal to include students, families, and agency input into our efforts and prevention focus for the county through our Prevention Plan that focuses on high priority risk factors based on data from the Pennsylvania Youth Survey taken by students in Clarion County.
Clarion County Family Net Projects include:
- Free substance-free community focused events such as Family Celebration Day and Summer Family Fest in the summer and Baby & Toddler Expo in the spring
- Education for the community in a quick access brochure with crisis numbers and vital support agencies and a Resource Directory
- Trainings for agencies and social service groups
- Working hard to collaborate, share information, training activities, and finding ways to work together to address needs and concerns within Clarion County and some surrounding areas
Please look up Communities That Care coalitions in Pennsylvania and the United States for inspiration and guidance.
